Bruce Prichard Praises Savio Vega’s Versatility As A Performer

Bruce Prichard reflects on Savio Vega’s talent during his time as a WWE Superstar.

Savio Vega recently returned to WWE, getting a monster pop at WWE Backlash 2023 in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Not only is Vega a legend on his native island of Puerto Rico, but he was a WWE Superstar from 1994 until 1998.

Vega came into the company as Kwang, a martial arts expert, before being repackaged as Savio at the first-ever WWE In Your House event in May 1995.

Asked about Savio’s time in the company during his most recent Something to Wrestle podcast, Bruce Prichard praised Vega for his versatility and willingness to do business, saying the locker room also loved him.

“Savio was a utility guy, man. Savio could do it all. Kwang, Savio Vega, man, could do it all. He was a utility guy that could be anywhere on the card, heel, or babyface, and always deliver. Everybody also liked working with Savio because he was easier to work with. He was solid, and he could go. He was one of those guys. A stand-up human being would never want to mess with,” Prichard said.

At WWE Backlash, Savio Vega helped Bad Bunny and the LWO in their fight with the Judgment Day. Savio credited Damian Priest and Bad Bunny for making his appearance happen. Read more here

Savio also said that he would like to manage Bad Bunny in WWE and has pitched ideas to the company. Read more here.
