Bruce Prichard: I Wouldn’t Have Ever Ended Undertaker’s Streak But It Worked Out For The Best

Bruce Prichard thinks Brock Lesnar ending The Undertaker’s streak was the right call in hindsight.

The Undertaker’s WrestleMania streak is once in a lifetime. 21-0 is a WrestleMania feat likely to never be accomplished again. When Brock Lesnar ended the streak in 2014, many were left in shock and dismay. Many also believed that this would be the end of The Undertaker’s career, but six years later, he is still going strong.

On a recent episode of his podcast, Bruce Prichard was asked whether or not he would make the same decision as creative made back in 2014.

Bruce, who has been with the Undertaker since the inception of the character and was the original manager put together with the Undertaker in 1990 at the Survivor series, said that he would have never made the call to end the streak but he does feel like given the way things have gone the last six years, it was the right decision to make for business.

I actually had this conversation the other day. Let me answer it this way, Would I have done it? No,” Bruce admitted. “In hindsight, [hindsight] being 20/20, do I think it was the right call? Yes. For business purposes, for the story, for everything else. Yeah, man. I agree with it, but I don’t necessarily– had I been the one to be making that call, I don’t know that I would have made that call.”

The Undertaker’s career coming to a close is always a topic of discussion, especially around WrestleMania season. As such, The Undertaker will be the subject of a new WWE documentary series which will follow the latter portion of his career as he takes an introspective look on when it will be time for him to hang up his boots.
