Bron Breakker Says He Always Wanted To Be In WWE, Scott Steiner Got Him To Work One Indie Match
Bron Breakker talks about his one match before WWE and how Scott Steiner started his journey without his knowledge.
Bron Breakker wanted to be a WWE Superstar all his life. Of course, as a descendant of Rick Steiner, sports entertainment came naturally to him but it wasn’t until NXT New Year’s Evil 2022 when he defeated Tommaso Ciampa for the NXT Championship that he finally reached the pinnacle of his career so far.
Entering that match on January 4, 2022, Breakker had a special entrance that would see him kick through a gold X and break it in half symbolizing the end of the black and gold era of NXT.
Talking about the entrance in an interview with Sean Ross Sapp, Breakker would say he had no idea that that was going to be his entrance but he enjoyed the enhancement of his character and the entertainment provided.
“Honestly, I don’t know. I just showed up and that’s what we were doing. I have no idea. (I was thinking), ‘I hope nothing messes up’ (with the chains). It was cool. It was a cool thing for me to do. The staff here at NXT, the creative staff is fantastic and always coming up with cool ideas and there are cool ways to make everybody further their character and their abilities. They do a fantastic job. It’s great.”
Furthermore, talking about his offense in the ring, Bron would say that he is first and foremost an entertainer and he wants that to shine through in his work in the ring.
“I’m a sports entertainer. That’s my job. I want to entertain the fans. I love the WWE Universe and the fans. I wouldn’t be here without him. I just want to show them what I can do and that I belong here and I can be a great NXT Champion and I want people to fall in love with my work and want them to be on the edge of their seats when I come out. That’s all I’m trying to do.”
Bronson Rechsteiner had previously been in the NFL but he says that the moment football ended for him, it was time to open the door to his true passion, professional wrestling.
“I wanted to wrestle and be a WWE superstar my entire life. The second football was up for me, it was gone. ‘Alright, moving on.’ This is where I always wanted to be. I’ve been chomping at the bit here forever. I took the opportunity as soon as it was there.”
He had gotten a taste of wrestling when he attended a signing with his uncle, Scott Steiner, who blindsided him with the news that he would be wrestling that day and he did and was given no feedback. At least that has changed for him now.
“My uncle was doing a signing and I just went along with him, just to hang with him. He was like, ‘Hey, you’re going to wrestle.’ [Shocked face]. ‘I don’t know how to wrestle.’ That’s really all that was. I had no idea. No (I didn’t get feedback for that match). They give me feedback now. “
Now, Breakker is ready to carry the torch of NXT, with his family’s full support behind him. You can see what Rick Steiner had to say about his son’s crowning achievement at this link.
