Brock Lesnar ‘Wasn’t Feeling’ WWE’s Vision For Him When He First Started

Brock Lesnar is finally able to be himself in WWE.

Lesnar entered WWE television with the rocket strapped to him, going against top stars and becoming the youngest WWE Champion ever when he won the title from The Rock. Lesnar ran through opponents and was backed by Paul Heyman, a relationship that has continued throughout his entire career.

That wasn’t the real Brock Lesnar.

Speaking to Joseph Staszewski of the New York Post, Lesnar said he tried to be someone “who I really never kind of was,” and he didn’t quite know where he fit in with Heyman speaking for him, saying, when he first started, “he just wasn’t feeling” WWE’s vision for him.

“This is the real Brock Lesnar,” he said. “I’m a country hillbilly f–k, and that’s who I’m am. I grew up the same way.” Lesnar said jokingly that now he can come to work and not have to “change my f–king clothes.”

Lesnar previously revealed that his new ponytail haircut was the result of a bet that he didn’t want to lose with his kids. You can find his full comments by clicking here.

Lesnar defended his WWE Title against Austin Theory on March 5 at a WWE live event at Madison Square Garden. He was bloodied up by Roman Reigns and The Usos after the bout. You can find results from the show by clicking here.
