Britt Baker Says Adam Cole Is ‘Definitely Recovering’ From Injury, Hopes He’ll Be Wrestling ‘Soon’
Britt Baker gives an update on the health of Adam Cole.
Unfortunately, the injury bug has been ever-present this summer in AEW. CM Punk, Bryan Danielson, Kenny Omega, and Adam Cole are all currently on the shelf due to injury. Unlike Punk, Danielson, and Omega, Adam Cole wrestled during the AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door pay-per-view event. Competing for the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship, Adam Cole would take the pinfall in a Fatal 4-Way match that ended abruptly and has not been seen since.
Our premium service, Fightful Select reported in early-June that Adam Cole was working through a multitude of injuries, including a labrum injury.
Adam Cole appeared on AEW Dynamite this week, but has been banged up for quite a while.
Word emerged recently that Adam Cole had been battling a series of injuries of late, but Fightful learned that it’s been going on longer than most realize.Cole has been dealing with a labrum injury as far back as his AEW World Title program with
Hangman Page, and worked through the pain, based on what AEW sources tell us. Those that we spoke to claimed that the labrum was torn, though we’ve not had that confirmed by Cole or All Elite Wrestling themselves.Cole hasn’t competed since AEW Double or Nothing against Samoa Joe. We’ve not heard if Cole will be forced to miss any time or if he’ll be rehabbing the injury.
Now, Adam Cole’s better half, Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D, provided an update on Adam’s recovery. Speaking with Riju Dasgupta of Sportskeeda, Baker, while not getting into the specifics of the injuries, noted that Adam definitely needed the time off and is assuredly on the road to recovery.
“Well, he’s definitely recovering and healing, so I hope just like everybody else, that we get to see him back in the wrestling ring soon, but he definitely has to take some time to recover,” she said.
Adam Cole and Britt Baker were the inaugural winners of the Owen Hart Foundation Cup Tournaments just one month before Forbidden Door and Adam spent the bulk of the month of June not getting physical on AEW television.
We continue to wish Adam the best in his recovery.
