Brian Cage Needs Surgery For Torn Bicep, Says He Has Not Signed With Any Promotion

On Jan. 12 it was reported Brian Cage had signed with AEW after his IMPACT contract came to an end. The news was reported shortly after Cage lost to Rob Van Dam at IMPACT Hard to Kill. Cage’s wife Melissa Santos quickly denied the report. Cage reportedly had a torn bicep in the match, though it was unclear if he suffered the injury before or during the match with RVD.

In a new video on Instagram, Cage provided an update on his health and addressed rumors of his future.

“I know there’s been a lot of speculation on where I’m going. Rumors that I’ve signed here, that I’ve signed there. All kinds of stuff. I haven’t answered much and I’ve been keeping to myself about it. My contract did come to an end with IMPACT Wrestling. They made me an offer to stay, as did multiple other companies. While I was mulling all that over, unfortunately, I tore my bicep. I didn’t want to say anything until I knew what was going on. I am set to get surgery this Monday. I’m not technically with any group right now. I had a bunch of amazing offers from all over the place and I’m hoping they’re still there when I heal up,” he said.

Cage stated he isn’t sure how long he’ll be out of action for but is confident he can recover quicker than the six months it takes most people to recover from a torn bicep.
