Bret Hart: Bret Hart Is Not Going To Get Busted With An Underage Girl Or A Pile Of Cocaine
In the mid-90s, WWE underwent a change at the top as the likes of Hulk Hogan and The Ultimate Warrior were phased out. The change occurred as talent like Hogan and Randy Savage joined WCW, and WWE was under fire for steroid use.
The change in direction was dubbed the “New Generation” and led by Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels, Razor Ramon, and Diesel.
“I was kind of proud to be the torch bearer for the New Generation. There were so many liabilities on the company at that time and I was the safest guy. Bret Hart’s not going to get busted with an underage girl in a hotel or ‘We found a pile of cocaine in his bag,'” said Bret on “Mr. McMahon.”
Bret would hold the WWE Championship on five occasions from 1992 to 1997.
Razor Ramon (Scott Hall) and Diesel (Kevin Nash) would jump to WCW in 1996.
All six episodes of “Mr. McMahon” are now streaming on Netflix.
Janel Grant, a former WWE employee, filed a lawsuit in January against Vince McMahon, WWE, and John Laurinaitis. The lawsuit accuses McMahon of sexual assault and sex trafficking. On May 30, Grant agreed to pause the lawsuit for six months while the federal investigation continued against McMahon, who resigned from TKO/WWE following the lawsuit being filed.
