WWE SmackDown

– Bray Wyatt came to the ring. He stated that he tries to present the “real” version of himself, but he doesn’t know if there is one. Wyatt said LA Knight owes him an apology because he’s not Uncle Howdy. Wyatt lost his train of thought and proceeded to attack the camera man until officials stopped him. 

– The Usos (Jimmy & Jey Uso) successfully defended the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship against Hit Row (Ashante ‘Thee’ Adonis & Top Dolla). 

– In the main event, Imperium (Giovanni Vinci & Ludwig Kaiser) faced Braun Strowman and Ricochet in a Miracle on 34th Street Fight. The two teams battled it out using a number of weapons. In the end, the New Day (Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods) came out of a big present, and they were dressed as nut crackers. Ricochet got a kiss from his real-life girlfriend, ring announcer Samantha Irvin, and used the boost to clear house with a flurry of offense. Strowman then slammed Kaiser through a table. In the end, Ricochet pinned Vinci with a double-team splash. 

– Raquel Rodriguez won a Gauntlet Match to earn a shot at the SmackDown Women’s Championship. Xia Li controlled the early portion of the bout by eliminating both Emma and Tegan Nox. Raquel Rodriguez then eliminated Li and squared off with Liv Morgan. She went back and forth with the former champion and slammed her to eliminate her. Sonva Deville was the last entrant, and she viciously targeted Rodriguez’s injured arm. Still, Rodriguez slammed her and pinned her to clinch the win. Even when the champion, Ronda Rousey, forced her to face Shayna Baszler, Rodriguez rolled her up and punched her ticket to next week’s show, where she will challenge Rousey for the title.

– Rey Mysterio defeated Angel while Karrion Kross watched the match in the crowd. Mysterio seemingly challenged Kross to face him after the match.

– The Bloodline (Roman Reigns, The Usos, Solo Sikoa & Paul Heyman) kicked off the show, one week ahead of their buzzworthy tag team match against Kevin Owens and John Cena. Heyman hyped up the tag team match, and Reigns vowed to smash Cena and Owens. Zayn made it clear that he has found his family with The Bloodline, and he should be happy, but Owens continues to hang over his head. Zayn stated that Owens and Cena will face to acknowledge The Tribal Chief after The Bloodline wins next week.

– Another vignette hyped up Lacey Evans’ return; it ended by announcing her mission will “commence” next week.

– A video package highlighted John Cena’s career.

– Backstage, Emma confronted Kross and Scarlett. She slapped Scarlett for calling Mysterio a fool.

– In a WWE Digital Exclusive, Ronda Rousey discussed her looming match against Raquel Rodriguez. Rousey claimed that the referee counted the pin too fast. Shayna Baszler focused on thw way Rodriguez only has one arm, so she’ll look “stupid” when she faces Rousey.

AEW Rampage

– A brief teaser hyped up the “New Year, New Dynamite”, starting on the January 4 episode of AEW Dynamite.

– Jay Lethal and Jeff Jarrett defeated Max Caster and Billy Gunn by bending, if not breaking the rules, as they pinned Gunn after a low blow and a Lethal Injection.

– AR Fox and Top Flight (Dante & Darius Martin) won the $300,000 Three Kings Christmas Casino Trios Battle Royale. Late in the match, Hangman Page attacked Jon Moxley. Dante Martin capitalized by eliminating Moxley, who then brawled with Page until they were separated.

– Eddie Kingston and Ortiz challenged the House of Black (Malakai Black, Brody King & Buddy Matthews) to face them. Black appeared on the video screen and teased that they would clash in due time. He then sowed some seeds of dissent by questioning Ortiz’s loyalty to Kingston, leading to an argument between the allies.

– Daniel Garcia and Sammy Guevara participated in a tense interview. Garcia made it clear that he doesn’t like Garcia. The former TNT Champion responded by forcing Garcia to hug him. He then said they’re doing to do great things next year.

– TBS Champion Jade Cargill picked up a dominant victory over VertVixen. 

– In a promo, Ruby Solo stated that she found a partner for her fight against Tay Melo and Anna Jay A.S. 

– Wardlow previewed his TNT Championship match against Samoa Joe.

– Powerhouse Hobbs attacked someone outside and vowed to take everything.

– Former ROH World Champion RUSH made it clear that he wants to make the man who currently holds the gold, Claudio Castagnoli.

– In a tweet, Daniel Garcia commented on his interaction with Sammy Guevara.
