Braun Strowman Says He Can See Himself Main Event WrestleMania Someday

Braun Strowman has had a number of WrestleMania moments, but one thing that has eluded him is having a singles match at WWE’s biggest show of the year.

The current Intercontinental Champion spoke with Sports Illustrated and said his WrestleMania goal remains to be having a singles match on the show. Strowman has competed in numerous WrestleMania shows, but has mainly been wrestling in tag team matches or battle royals. Despite not having a singles match at the show under his resume, he still believes that he can still main event WrestleMania one day.

“Having a singles match on the main card, that’s been a personal goal of mine since I started with WWE. One day, I can see myself main-eventing WrestleMania. I feel like I have the star power and the fan base behind me that wants to see it, but I just need to find the right opponent,” Strowman said.

Before Strowman can think about WrestleMania, he will have to worry about defending his Intercontinental Championship at Elimination Chamber on March 8. Strowman will compete in a handicap match against the team of Cesaro, Shinsuke Nakamura and Sami Zayn and the champion knows getting past them will be key to potentially getting that long-desired singles match at WrestleMania.

“I’ve got my hands full this Sunday at the Elimination Chamber. Those three are pretty tough, and when they have their game plan working together, they’re even tougher. I need to get past them first, but hopefully I’m carrying that title out of Elimination Chamber and into WrestleMania. I’ll represent it proudly to whomever wants to step up and get these hands,” Strowman said.

Fightful will have live coverage of the Elimination Chamber, taking place on March 8 at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia.
