Braun Strowman Expresses That He Is In WWE For The Long Haul, Has No Plans To Leave The Company

Strowman talks about being close to the Universal Title and his plans going forward.

Braun Strowman was originally slated for last night’s Money In The Bank pay-per-view but he lost his spot after being defeated by Sami Zayn last week on RAW via an assist from Drew McIntyre and Baron Corbin who aided Zayn to victory. The ultimate result saw Sami not competing in the men’s Money In The Bank match and Braun Strowman being told by Triple H to leave the XL Center because Sami was found hanging from a steel structure backstage.

There have been a number of occasions over the past two years when Strowman was close to the Universal Championship but never was able to become champion. Strowman admitted that it is a bit frustrating to be so close and have it slip through his fingers but added that the goal is to get back in the title picture and keep clawing through.

“There is plenty of time, but yeah it is a little frustrating as it’s been so close so many times,” Braun told Daily Star Online. “Literally had my fingertips on it, but its motivation to keep working harder. The big goal this year is getting back in that WWE Universal Championship picture as I have slid down the mountain a little bit. But I am going to keep clawing tooth and nail to get back as it’s the one thing that’s eluded me. I want it, I am hungry, and the monster’s ready to eat.”

Strowman then discussed his future in the sports-entertainment company and put any ideas to rest that he may depart from it. Strowman said that WWE is his home and he has no plans to leave and appreciates the company for what they’ve done for him and his family.

“I am here for the long haul, I have no plans of leaving or going anywhere anytime soon. I love the WWE and the things they have done for me and my family, and I love the support of the fans. You are gonna see many more years of the monster causing destruction.” He said.

Former Universal Champion Brock Lesnar made a surprise appearance during the men’s Money In The Bank Ladder match and won the match. To hear/watch a reaction to Lesnar becoming Mr. Money In The Bank, click here.
