Braun Strowman Comments On WWE Universal Title Victory, Thanks Goldberg
Braun Strowman had his WrestleMania moment at WrestleMania 36, defeating Goldberg and winning the WWE Universal Title.
Strowman was a late replacement for Roman Reigns, who pulled out of the match as he didn’t feel comfortable wrestling with the coronavirus pandemic present. Strowman was officially added to the match on Friday’s SmackDown with no real explanation of why things were changed.
“The Monster Among Men” survived four spears from Goldberg, delivering multiple powerslams, including a final running powerslam that put the WWE Hall of Famer away. After the bout, Strowman spoke with WWE Digital about his victory..
“I don’t even believe it’s real. This is something that so many people have told me that I would never achieve. So many people told me that I didn’t deserve it because of what I’ve been through in life and things like that. This is proof right here that no matter what, if you work your butt off for something you believe in and dream, you can achieve anything. Right here is proof that you can achieve anything if you put your mind to it,” he said.
Strowman also took to social media to comment on the bout.
It’s real.
The #UniversalTitle is in these hands. Thank you @Goldberg and the @WWE Universe who’ve always supported. #MonsterMania #WrestleMania pic.twitter.com/OkLZxXLQD3— Braun Strowman (@BraunStrowman) April 5, 2020
