Booker T Says He Wouldn’t Want To Be NXT General Manager, But Would Do It If Asked
Booker T does not want the role, but would do it if he were asked by WWE.
Booker T would be the general manager of NXT if he were asked, but wouldn’t be particularly happy about it.
In October of last year, Booker T would return to announcing with NXT, a role that he has spoken at length about the help Vic Joseph has given him.
Since then, Booker has been a major part of the broadcast, particularly for how he sings along to Trick Williams’ theme song for each entrance as well as the energy he brings to the rest of the broadcast.
While speaking on his Hall Of Fame podcast, Booker discussed the possibility of his role in NXT expanding to possibly being the general manager of the brand. Booker noted he’d do it but would prefer not to given the choice.
“It’s not something I would want to do, but I would probably do it, just because I’m a team player. It’s just another job, more than anything. I’ve always looked at myself like a utility guy. I like doing commentary. If they want to shift me to do a GM thing, I would do it. It’s just another role.”
Booker recently stated that he told fans at Survivor Series that Punk was not coming, as he had no idea that Punk’s return was imminent. You can read more here.
