Booker T Says He Was Happy To See Adam Cole In WWE
Booker T says he was wondering when WWE would sign Adam Cole.
In an interview on Sam Roberts Wrestling Podcast, Booker T shared stories from his career and gave his opinion on where professional wrestling is headed. He was asked if he was optimistic about the talent in wrestling today and he specifically mentioned NXT's Adam Cole.
"Very optimistic. These guys are talent. I've seen the independent world moving. I was at a show five or six months ago. I was doing an autograph signing and Adam Cole was there. He came rolling in , he had his bag. I was like 'man, when are they going to sign you?' And he goes 'I'm just waiting, man," said Booker T.
At the 2018 Royal Rumble match, Cole was a surprise entrant at number 23. This would be his first appearance on WWE's main roster. Booker T said he congratulated Cole backstage at the WWE Royal Rumble pay-per-view.
"At the Rumble there, I saw Adam Cole with his bag. He came up to me and said 'Booker!' And I look at him and go 'what's going on man?' And I go 'You made it," said Booker T.
The five time world champion Booker T said he was happy to see Adam Cole at WWE and named another independent wrestler he would like to see signed by WWE.
At NXT Takeover: Philadelphia, Cole was defeated by Aleister Black . Since then, he and the rest of Undisputed Era have been feuding with Sanity.
