Booker T Is ‘Loving’ The Progression Of The Hurt Business On Monday Night Raw
Booker T is proud of the progression of The Hurt Business.
One of the most positive things to form in wrestling in 2020 was the Monday Night Raw faction known as The Hurt Business.
MVP returned to WWE in the 2020 Royal Rumble and shortly thereafter pair himself up with Bobby Lashley, who has risen back to dominance in the wake of his storyline marriage to Lana, they would add Shelton Benjamin, a fellow Ruthless Aggression era African American standout, and later the addition of Cedric Alexander who would join the group after turning his back on Ricochet and Mustafa Ali.
Booker T, another standout African American wrestler from WWE’s Ruthless Aggression era and one of the legends advertised for the January 4 episode of WWE Monday Night Raw, knows a thing or two about tag team wrestling, winning the Tag Team Championship of WCW as a member of Harlem Heat with his brother, Stevie Ray, multiple times.
On his podcast, Booker T reacted to Cedric Alexander and Shelton Benjamin winning the WWE Raw Tag Team Championship at WWE TLC. Booker T admitted that he initially had trepidation about Cedric Alexander being able to thrive in the group but has been very pleased with the outcome and says that was a little tutelage, possibly from himself, the groups can go even further.
“It was awesome. I loved it, man. I said it, Cedric Alexander, he’s looking a lot better to me, man. I’ve just got to talk to him. I’ve gotta give him a couple of clues on a couple of things. I normally wouldn’t talk like this but, hit me in the DMs and I’ll make sure I give you some knowledge. But other than that, I’m loving it.”
Booker continued, “It definitely gives these guys the rub, you know? It gives them a chip in the game and now it’s going to be up to them [to see] how far they take it. How big can The Hurt Business get as far as going out there and making the fans feel a certain way? That’s what the thing is really all about and the Hurt Business, right now, they are one of the hottest things going on the show. I’ve got to give him props, MVP has set up a great deal and he set up a great team around him and I wondered about the addition of Cedric Alexander, but I’ll tell you, man, he’s panning out. So, [with] a little direction, a little tutelage, I think that thing can blow up.
Currently, The Hurt Business holds three out of the four championships on Monday Night Raw available to men. Bobby Lashley has been the United States Champion for several months after defeating Apollo Crews to gain the gold.
Bobby Lashley was also the first Monday Night Raw Superstar to declare himself for the 2021 men’s Royal Rumble. You can check out an updated list of competitors at this link.
