Booker T: Intergender Wrestling On A Big Stage Would Screw Everything Up
Booker T gives his thoughts on intergender wrestling.
On August 6, Lance Storm caused some controversy on social media when he said intergender matches should stop taking place in light of the Speaking Out movement. Many wrestlers, both female and male, disagreed with Lance, believing they should have a choice on who to wrestle.
Count Booker T as those who agree with Lance.
“I second that emotion as far as definitely abolishing intergender wrestling,” Booker said on his Hall of Fame podcast. “I don’t think it does a whole lot for female wrestlers. Intergender wrestling, if it’s to ever be done on the Independent level, for women to get a little more training because there are less women out there working at a top-level, they can get a lot of practice in working with guys, but as far as intergender wrestling ever making it to the big stage, I think it would screw everything up.”
Booker has been outspoken regarding intergender wrestling before, specifically when Tessa Blanchard won the IMPACT World Title. Booker called the moment, “the word idea in history.” You can find his full comments by clicking here.
