Booker T Calls CM Punk’s Return To The Squared Circle ‘Inevitable’ After WWE Backstage Appearance

Booker T says CM Punk will inevitably get the itch to compete inside the squared circle again.

When discussing the return of CM Punk to WWE Backstage on FS1 on his Hall Of Fame Podcast, Booker T admits that he feels this new career move for the former WWE Champion will inevitably lead to him dawning the tights once again and having a match.

Booker would even go as far as to say that the Royal Rumble would be a good place to start.

“I think it actually adds a little bit more intrigue because, well, Seth Rollins already called him out. So my thing is, [it inevitably seems] like he’s going to have to transition back over to the other side,” Booker began. “You know, the Rumble is coming up. It might be a good time to, you know, make a transition after getting your feet wet.”

CM Punk’s final match was in the Royal Rumble almost six years ago. He was the first man to enter the 2014 match and one of the final four competitors. He would not be seen again for nearly six years on WWE TV until returning to the FS1 show.

Booker T would go on to say that it’s hard to leave money on the table, and CM Punk will begin to feel like he can work with or even outwork some on the roster today.

“He’s going to have the itch. Of course, he’s going to get the itch,” Booker continued. “So, definitely, CM Punk is probably gonna look at the roster and say, ‘man, I think I can go out there and better than this guy. Man, I know I could work better than him. Oh, good god! Coach, put me in the game!’ It’s one of those type of deals.”

CM Punk is set to return to WWE Backstage on Tuesday, November 19, 2019.
