Bobby Roode Said Goodbye To NXT In The Most Babyface Way Possible

Bobby Roode made his SmackDown Live debut three days after losing the NXT Title to Drew McIntyre at Takeover Brooklyn III, and he did it in a far less heelish fashion than had been his traditional persona in the WWE's 'developmental' brand.

He even babyfaced it up in a post-show interview the following week.

For those fans who watched him in NXT, this new SmackDown version of Bobby Roode can be a little jarring.

But this past weekend, he was back on the road with the Full Sail gang, taking part in his final NXT tour, which just so happened to be in his home country of Canada. Surely he would be working heel in those matches?

Nope.

He defeated The Velveteen Dream at two of those events, and was hugely over. In the third event, he was part of a triple threat vs McIntyre and Andrade Almas.

And at the final show, on Saturday, he got on the mic and said goodbye to the NXT Universe in one of the most babyface promos you've ever heard.

Then he posted this photo as a farewell.

Godspeed, Sir Robert.

I still suspect this babyface turn will be short-lived, but for as long as it lasts, I hope it treats you well.
