Bobby Fish On Ring of Honor’s Impending Hiatus: My Concern Is For The Talent In That Locker Room
Bobby Fish weighs in on the upcoming hiatus being taken by Ring of Honor.
Recently, it was announced that Ring of Honor, after twenty years of providing top-level independent wrestling, would be going on hiatus in the first quarter of 2022 in order to “reimagine” the promotion.
While many who currently work for the promotion have already spoken out about this, Ring of Honor also has a bountiful alumni roster featuring names that have won championship gold across the pro wrestling globe.
One such name tied to the promotion is Bobby Fish. Having captured the Ring of Honor Tag Team Championship with Kyle O’Reilly as well as the Ring of Honor Television Championship during his tenure there, Bobby has fond memories of his time in Ring of Honor.
Speaking on a recent Highspots virtual signing, Fish remarked on his ROH tenure and his concern for the men and women who will now need to find a new place to work.
“It is what it is. I have fond memories of my time there, I do. My concern is for the boys. It’s never good to see a place that provides jobs for the boys and the girls to have a place to work and to get a paycheck and for that to go away, it’s never a good thing. I just wish the best to all the locker room there and that’s who I feel for at this time. I don’t know the ins and outs, you know, management and all the other stuff at Sinclair and whatnot. Frankly, I don’t care very much. The friends that I still have in that locker room, I want them to be successful and taken care of and [to be able to] take care of their families and all that good stuff, you know?”
Fish continued, “I think AEW is full of young talent that is on the rise and doing cool and interesting things within the company. As far as outside of that, I don’t really know. I’m thinking of the people that I’m concerned with, with the Ring of Honor thing, if we piggyback off of that, I just want guys like Jay Lethal and Dalton Castle and Matt Taven, talented performers that deserve a place to work, and a good place to call home. So I would like to see them pop up somewhere, get something going for them.”
Bobby Fish currently works for All Elite Wrestling along with his former Undisputed ERA stablemate, Adam Cole, a former ROH Champion. Learn more about Cole’s thoughts about Fish making the jump to AEW at this link.
