Blue Meanie Talks The Release Of His FC Toys Bone Cruncher Figure, Missing Out On WWE And ECW Toy Releases
Blue Meanie reflects on missing out on WWE and ECW action figures and getting his chance to be immortalized as a figure years later.
Unfortunately, despite being immortalized in video games such as WWF WrestleMania 2000 on the Nintendo 64, Blue Meanie missed out on his opportunity to be immortalized in an official WWF or ECW action figure. Speaking about his unfortunate timing as action figures are concerned, Meanie tells Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp that switching between companies, unfortunately, led to him having to wait many years for his first action figure.
“Unfortunately, when I went to WWE, ECW made their action figures. I went back to ECW, WWE released their line of action figures, the Bone Crunchers. I missed out on the action figures,” said Meanie.
However, Meanie is getting his own Bone-Crushing action figure as released by the Figures Collections toy line. Meanie feels grateful to get this opportunity and to still be a wrestler that fans are discovering thanks to platforms like the WWE Network.
“I am so fortunate to have this career. I’ve been wrestling since ’94. To have a little bit of merch back then, but now 23 [years later], I have these really cool action figures coming out, got a cool video game. We’re at this convention talking to people who passed down their pro wrestling like a family heirloom. Some people pass down their good china. The parents at this convention are like, ‘Here’s my pro wrestling; here’s my ECW.’ Thank God for the Network or Peacock. Whatever it’s on now, people are rediscovering ECW. So to do that, to be able to make new merchandise, be a part of really cool merchandise in this day and age, it’s very fortunate,” he said.
