In recent weeks, the Best Friends (Chuck Taylor and Trent Beretta) and Orange Cassidy have been locked in a heated rivalry with Blackpool Combat Club (Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli, and Wheeler Yuta). Beretta beat Moxley and Penta El Zero Miedo in an Anything Goes match on the August 2 episode of AEW Dynamite. A post-match brawl set the stage for a Parking Lot Fight on the August 4 episode of AEW Rampage.
The fight quickly escalated into a brutal battle. Moxley pulled out a fork and busted Beretta open. Castagnoli pulled a spoiler off a car and hit Beretta with it. The competitors slammed each other cars throughout the contest. Taylor tapped into his dark side by jabbing Moxley with a fork. Moxley sent Beretta through a windshield with a Death Rider. Taylor upped the ante by siphoning gas out of a car and lighting a barbed wire 2×4 on fire. Wheeler Yuta showed up and viciously attacked him.
The Best Friends had a glimmer of hope when Sue, Trent’s mom, drove in and dropped off Orange Cassidy. Blackpool Combat Club attacked him. They then ordered Sue to leave and proceeded to destroy her car. Moxley won the match by stomping Beretta onto a windshield.
