Billy Corgan Wants CM Punk To Compete In TNA

Billy Corgan wants to make TNA the best possible wrestling company possible. He thinks that could include having one CM Punk compete in a TNA ring.

In an interview with ESPN, the TNA president said that he hopes that CM Punk comes back to professional wrestling. Punk is currently fighting in UFC where he had his first pro MMA fight at UFC 203.

"I hope that someone who is so gifted comes back to professional wrestling if he wants to be there," Corgan said. "So of course I would just love to see him in a ring. If it's our ring, even better. Even if he just wanted to be involved, I would love to have that conversation with him."

TNA has recently signed several big free agents to TNA as of late, including the likes of Moose and Aron Rex (formerly known as Damien Sandow). But Corgan also explained that TNA's reliance on signing former WWE stars to the company did not help its long time success.

"Many times in the past, TNA has made the mistake of bringing in WWE people to sort of create a buzz that didn't sustain. But success is building a culture that is distinctly your own, with your own identifiable signature. If everything you do doesn't feed into that, you are making a big mistake that history shows does not work."

Corgan is one of several reported interested parties in buying the company. He became TNA President last month and is now also in charge of the company's day-to-day operations. Punk competed for TNA way back in 2003 and 2004.
