Billie Kay Speaks On How The Rock Was An Influence On Her Growing Up As A Wrestling Fan, WWE Empowering Their Women’s Division & More
One half of the 2016 'Breakout Star of the year' comments on a number of topics to her hometown news outlet.
One half of NXT's"Iconic Duo", Billie Kay, recently spoke with the Daily Telegraph, which is an Australian newspaper. Kay, real name Jessica McKay, who hails from New South Wales Australia, is thrilled to be a part of the WWE and their Women's division.
“I think WWE has been at the forefront for empowering women and it’s been incredible to watch."
In October of 2017, Billie Kay had her own action figure released in stores and it was full circle moment for the NXT star.
“It’s so crazy. I had scans done earlier last year and when I saw the picture of my figure, I was in absolute shock". She said. “I have worked so hard to get to where I am and I’m so grateful to be where I am.”
Although Billie Kay & Peyton Royce are already making strides and are claiming to be the next big thing in WWE; as all of us did, we started off as fans of the sport and one wrestler who heavily influenced Billie Kay was former 8-time WWE Champion, The Rock.
“It made me think of all of my WWE figurines growing up. Of course, all of them were The Rock and how they inspired me when I was a kid. So I really hope my figure can do the same. For me, when I saw The Rock, with his music hit, when he spoke on the microphone, when he performed in the ring, the way he would pull with the electricity he had was something I was immediately drawn to."
The "Iconic Duo" have not been featured on NXT TV in the past few weeks, which has lead to the speculation that the two will be headed up to the main roster soon. Peyton Royce & Billie Kay have paid their dues in NXT and if the two stick together on the main roster, it is without question that they will be co-holders of either the RAW, or SmackDown Live Women's Championship.
