Big Show Says Drake Maverick Kept Talking Trash On Twitter: “I’ve Dated Women Bigger Than Him”
Big Show with his take on D.M.G.M.
When Akam and Rezar defeated Seth Rollins to become the RAW Tag Team Champions at the WWE RAW TV tapings in Manchester, the following day it was made official that The Authors Of Pain were set to face the SmackDown Live Tag Team Champions The Bar at Survivor Series in a champions versus champions match. In the corner as an enforcer for The Bar was Big Show and in the corner for A.O.P. as a mouthpiece is 205 Live GM Drake Maverick.
In the weeks leading up to Survivor Series, Drake Maverick began to hype up the match by talking some trash to The Big Show via social media. Big Show did not take too kindly to the trash talk because he did not know who Maverick was. Big Show joined David LaGreca and WWE Hall Of Famer Bully Ray on Busted Open Radio and admitted that he was confused as to why Maverick continued targeting him on social media to build up the Survivor Series match and Show added that he originally thought Maverick was one of the creative writers.
“I gotta tell you a funny story Bubba. Was it last week? The week before? Two weeks ago? The guy that’s the manager for that tag team – was it AOP? Derrick? Drake, whatever his name is. He keeps popping up in my social media feed talking trash and I’m like, ‘What’s this dude’s issue?’ He needs to take my name of out of his mouth you know what I mean? I’ve dated women bigger than him. He needs to shut up, right? And then so I call the office – I’m like, ‘Hey, before I rip somebody’s head off, why is guy talking trash?’ ‘Oh well he’s [your] opponent against The Bar for Survivor Series’ and I’m like, ‘Oh, thanks for telling me. Appreciate it.’” Big Show shared. “So I’m like okay that makes sense now why he’s running his mouth – ok well good luck for him, see you at Survivor Series and I’ll introduce you to a chop.” He continued, “Well I didn’t know he was on the show for the longest time – I thought he was one of the writers backstage and then somebody said he’s on the show. That’s the problem. Half the time now… because I’m old. I haven’t been around in a while. I’ve been out this past year and we’ve got some talent that looks like they ought to be writers and some of the writers are in better shape than the talent and I’m all confused. I don’t know what to do.”
Big Show and Drake Maverick did meet face-to-face at Survivor Series and that altercation resulted in Maverick peeing his pants on WWE programming. To hear some reactions to that moment, head over to the Fightful Pro Wrestling YouTube channel.
