Big Show Explains Why He’s Not Enamored With Displaying Memorabilia From His Wrestling Career
Big Show says he doesn’t want to display too much memorabilia from his wrestling career because that would mean it is truly over.
The Big Show is one of the few WWE Superstars who can say that he came in at the top of the industry and stayed at the top of the industry for the majority of his career. As such, he has accumulated a lot of memories and some memorabilia over the years.
On his Netflix series, The Big Show Show, Big Show is commonly seen with his WWE Championship, the Undisputed Championship variant that he won from Brock Lesnar at the 2002 WWE Survivor Series in Madison Square Garden.
Speaking with Gamespot, Big Show reveals why that is the one piece of memorabilia he has and the reason he is not heavy into collecting and displaying memories from his career.
“The only [Championship] I have up, which I have one from competing against Brock Lesnar in Madison Square Garden. When I beat Brock in the garden when Paul Heyman did this big turn. Paul Heyman put that into a nice trophy case, took a picture,” said Big Show. “That’s the only one I have up. I have two things, wrestling memorabilia-wise, hanging up. I have that title hanging up, and I have a picture of myself, John Cena, Undertaker, and Shawn Michaels. That I have on my desk.”
Continuing on, Big Show would say that memorabilia is too much of a reminder that his ride is almost coming to an end.
“I don’t want to put all that stuff up because I think you put that stuff up when you’re ready to sit down and bask in it,” he explained. “So right now I’m ready for what’s today. What’s tomorrow? I’m still moving forward and still accomplishing goals. So, who knows? I may never put that stuff up in my lifetime, and they go to a very small Big Show museum someday. That would be the irony of it. The world’s smallest museum for the world’s largest athlete.”
Big Show also recently revealed that there are at least two more episodes of his Netflix series yet to be released. Learn more at this link.
