Big E Reiterates The Importance Of Keeping The New Day Together: ‘Our Story Is One Of Brotherhood’

Big E once again doubles down on the importance of displaying the brotherhood of The New Day.

Two weeks ago on Smackdown, Kofi Kingston gave Big E his blessing to forge his path in the singles ranks on SmackDown. In the time since, known names within the industry and fans alike have shown excitement about the potential for Big E to be a major breakout star in WWE.

Whenever speaking about a potential singles run, Big E would always say that he does not want singles success at the expense of New Day as a unit and has always been dead against betraying Kofi Kingston or Xavier Woods on television.

“Our story is one of brotherhood,” said Big E to Sports Illustrated. “That’s so different. Why can’t you have three men, three Black men that really care about each other, that want to see each other succeed? It’s not about stabbing each other in the back, it’s about coming together for a common cause. Kofi said, ‘When I became world champion, we all became world champion.’ He didn’t say it to set up a feud, he said it because he meant it.”

E continued, “If you look at any stable in the 10 years, besides The Shield, I can’t think of very many where a break-up benefited everyone. There is so much more you can get out of the three of us staying together and believing in each other.”

Big E and Kofi Kingston have recently been showing solidarity for the Black Lives Matter movement on WWE television. Recently, Big E revealed that he and Kofi spoke to Vince McMahon about their show of solidarity and the WWE CEO was completely on-board. Learn more at this link.
