Big E Discussing The NXT Brand: “It Has Become More Than Just A Feeder System For WWE, It’s Become Its Own Brand”

Big E is proud to see how far NXT has come.

Prior to The New Day’s Big E being a hip-jiving and unique multi-time WWE Tag Team Champion on WWE programming, he was a powerhouse as the big man once held the Intercontinental Championship and before that Big E was a part of the developing NXT brand where he was NXT Champion and held the title for 160+ days before dropping it to Bo Dallas.

NXT went from solely being based in Florida to now having international tours along with their normal Florida shows. The Florida native Big E was recently interviewed by the ‘Tampa Bay Times’ to promote RAW and SmackDown Live which were in Florida this past week and will be back in Florida next week. Big E discussed how The New Day have been able to remain fresh throughout their years as a trio and he also spoke about NXT which is where he established himself as a mainstay for WWE.

“I think it’s fantastic. It has become more than just a feeder system for WWE, it’s become its own brand. It’s really cool to see how a lot of our hardcore fans have really taken to the brand. It has such a different feel, which I think is great.” Big E said. “It doesn’t feel like RAW, it doesn’t feel like SmackDown, there is so much talent there. I think it’s great to have it in Central Florida, it’s cool. When I was in NXT five years ago, we didn’t travel nationally, and not only are they traveling and doing shows around the country, but they’re doing tours of Japan and Europe, and people across the world have taken to NXT so passionately.”

Speaking of NXT, the main event for this year’s TakeOver: Brooklyn IV is up in the air after Aleister Black suffered an injury that will require surgery. For more information on that, click here.
