Big Cass Says He And Enzo Amore Were Happy When They Split In WWE
Big Cass talks split with Enzo Amore.
Enzo Amore and Big Cass were one of the hottest tag team acts in wrestling when they were called up from NXT to the main roster following WrestleMania 32. Despite the crowd support, the duo were split in 2017 with Cass turning on Enzo. In an interview with Wrestling Inc, Cass discussed why the split had him and Enzo excited for the future.
“In terms from tag team to a singles [star], I think that me and Enzo both are stars,” Cass explained. “So when you put two stars together, each one of them wants to grow on their own. We were both itching to be apart from each other because he can do what he does and I do what I do without each other. So when that [split] happened, I think we might have played upset on television but me and him were both very happy about that. I know he was because it was just a chance for him to show what he could do by himself, and he was proud of me because I could show what I can do by myself.”
Unfortunately for Cass, a torn ACL sidelined him in the middle of his feud with Enzo. He returned as a singles star in April 2018, but was released by WWE in June 2018 due to a number of backstage incidents. More recently, Cass has stepped away from the wrestling spotlight following an incident at a WrestlePro event that ended with him being punched by Pat Buck.
