Big Cass Released By WWE
Big Cass is no longer a WWE wrestler.
On Tuesday, WWE dropped the news that Big Cass had been released by the company without many details. On WWE.com, the company shared a statement which simply said the following.
WWE has come to terms on the release of William Morrissey (Big Cass).
The seven-foot-tall wrestler had been on the main roster since 2016 when he and Enzo Amore came as a team from NXT. Later while in a feud where he and Amore were breaking up, Big Cass injured his ACL which kept him out of the ring for months until recently.
Big Cass came back to WWE television on Smackdown and began a feud with Daniel Bryan immediately then lost two pay-per-view matches to Bryan including a match at Sunday’s Money in the Bank.
After being trained by Johnny Rodz, Big Cass had some experience wrestling in an independent wrestling promotion before becoming part of the WWE developmental program in Florida Championship Wrestling and then NXT.
Fightful Wrestling will update this report when more information about why Big Cass was released is available.
