The two powerhouses competed in a Tag Team Battle Royale on the July 28 episode of AEW Rampage. Serpentico and Luther were the first team eliminated. Ethan Page and Isiah Kassidy were the next team out. Bill then eliminated Matt Menard to take him and Angelo Parker out of the match. The Butcher and The Blade tossed Christopher Daniels over the top rope to take him and Matt Sydal out of the bout. Bill and Cage clotheslined Singh over the ropes to eliminate him and Jay Lethal.
The Butcher and The Blade eliminated Jeff Hardy to remove him and Matt Hardy from the action. The match came down to Bill and Cage and The Butcher and The Blade. In the end, Bill and Cage won the bout by last eliminating The Butcher. With the win, they earned a shot at the AEW World Tag Team Championship.

The Battle Royale also marked the in-ring return of Jeff Hardy, who hadn’t competed on AEW TV since the June 21 episode of AEW Dynamite, where he and Matt Hardy lost to The Gunns (Austin and Colten Gunn). Matt later said that Jeff suffered a dislocated jaw when Jay White and Juice Robinson attacked them after the match.
Bill and Cage previously teamed up in the Blind Eliminator Tag Team Tournament, where they lost to Adam Cole and MJF in the semi-finals. MJF and Cole will challenge FTR for the AEW World Tag Team Championship on the July 29 episode of AEW Collision. Cage and Bill will face the winners of the bout.
