Becky Lynch Reaches One Year As WWE Raw Women’s Champion
One year ago, Becky Lynch solidified herself as “The Man” when she captured the Raw and SmackDown Women’s Titles in the main event of WrestleMania 35.
Though her SmackDown Women’s Title reign was short-lived, Lynch has now hit the one-year mark as the Raw Women’s Champion. Lynch won the belt on April 7, 2019 — thought it was really April 8 when the final bell rang and Lynch stood victorious in the ring — and has defended it against the likes of Lacey Evans, Sasha Banks, Natalya, and Asuka. Lynch’s latest successful title defense came at WrestleMania 36 when she defeated Shayna Baszler.
Lynch is the longest-reigning Women’s Champion since the brand split era and introduction of the brand-specific titles. She’s also the longest-reigning Women’s/Divas Champion since Trish Stratus held the belt for 448 days in 2005. Stratus did miss five months of action during her reign.
