Becky Lynch Didn’t Want To Be Marketed As ‘The Mom’
Becky Lynch went from The Man to The Mom on the May 11 episode of WWE Raw when she announced her pregnancy.
Lynch was the reigning Raw Women’s Champion, but relinquished the belt to become a mom.
Almost immediately, WWE began selling The Mom and The Ma shirts.
Speaking to Nikki & Brie Bella on the Bellas podcast, Becky gave her reaction to WWE using “The Mom” as new marketing following her announcement.
“I really didn’t want to be marketed as The Mom. That was the one thing, I told [Seth], ‘They’re going to make me The Mom, I know it.’ He’s like, ‘Nah, they’re not.’ As soon as I said it, a friggin’ t-shirt came out,” she said.
Becky did have a better reaction on social media following the release of the shirt.
Can’t even be mad at it cause I need formula money. https://t.co/mkABjAn4Pf

Elsewhere on the podcast, Becky revealed she pitched the idea to lose the Raw Women’s Title to Shayna Baszler at WrestleMania 36, but the idea was turned down. You can find her full comments by clicking here.
