Bayley On Mercedes Mone’s AEW Debut: No Matter Where She Is, I Will Be There For Her Like She’s Been For Me
Bayley and Mercedes Mone (Sasha Banks) are bonded for life.
Bayley and Mercedes Mone are no strangers to making history with one another.
The match they had at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn in 2015 was the first ever women’s co-main event of a WWE premium live event, paving the way for their headlining Iron Man Match at NXT TakeOver: Respect later that year.
Even though Mercedes and Bayley are now in separate companies with Mercedes being the newest AEW signee, they still support each other through thick and thin. Bayley was even in attendance at the TD Garden for her debut with WWE’s rival organization.
Speaking about Mercedes’ debut and her future in wrestling to Alex McCarthy of Daily Mail, Bayley said that she believes her friend deserves all the praise that she gets and vowed to always be there for her no matter where she is in the world of wrestling.
“She deserves that. I mean, we all know everything she’s done for the industry. To me, it’s like, it doesn’t matter where she is or what country she is in or what company she works for. She makes wrestling special because she’s so passionate about it, and she loves it so much. So just her being back in a ring I think just brought the wrestling world together. That’s something I couldn’t miss,” she said. “There’s certain people in your life and in your career that you share moments with that that bond you for life. For us, that started from the moment we met to our first practice match we had the second day we knew each other, and then to Brooklyn. It’s like, when you share those things together, it’s like, alright, well, we’re bonded for life. I will always be there for you. So no matter where she is, I will always be there for her just like she’s been for me.”
