Dave Bautista (Batista) To Voice Character In English Dub Of Studio Ghibli’s ‘The Boy And The Heron’

Dave Bautista, formerly known as Batista in WWE, will be getting voice-over work in the new Studio Ghibli movie.

Batista is not only a legend, but one of the latest WWE Superstars to take Hollywood by storm. While he is known for his work on camera as Drax the Destroyer in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy franchise, he is now set to get some voiceover for the English translation of a new Studio Ghibli movie, The Boy and the Heron.

Per Variety, the former WWE World Champion will be playing The Parakeet King in the upcoming English dub of the movie which is slated to be released theatrically on December 8. This cast also features Robert Pattinson, Christian Bale, Willem Dafoe, and Florence Pugh who is familiar to wrestling fans as the actress who portrayed Saraya in the movie Fighting with My Family.

The movie was teased as the final movie of acclaimed director Hayao Miyazaki, but it is also been stated that he does not feel ready to retire and is currently working on ideas for a new film.

Batista last wrestled in 2019 at WrestleMania 35 in a loss to Triple H. He was elected to go into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2020 before the global pandemic. He also stated that he was set to be inducted this year but schedule conflicts meant plans changed.
