Batista Confirms He Was Set For 2023 WWE Hall of Fame, Film Commitments Prohibited His Induction

Batista confirms that he was supposed to go into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2023 but could not due to film commitments.

Batista was announced as a WWE Hall of Fame-elect in 2020 but ultimately was never officially inducted due to the global pandemic postponing the ceremony until 2021.

In 2021, WWE hosted a prerecorded Hall of Fame ceremony inside the WWE ThunderDome, but Batista could not attend due to prior engagements. In March 2021, Batista stated, “By my request, they have agreed to induct me at a future ceremony where I’ll be able to properly thank the fans and people who made my career possible.”

Batista had previously stated that he hoped 2023 would be the year that he would be inducted. However, it was not to be.

In a new interview with CoolKicks, Batista reveals that he was supposed to be inducted into the Hall of Fame this year but was filming a movie in South Africa and therefore was not able to attend this year’s ceremony.

“No. I was in South Africa. I was supposed to go into the Hall Of Fame, but I was on this film I was committed to. I couldn’t get out of it,” he said when asked if he had attended this year’s WrestleMania in Los Angeles.

Batista also revealed that he prefers acting at this point in his career but admits there’s nothing like the adrenaline rush of a professional wrestling audience.

Batista had his final match at WWE WrestleMania 35, losing to Triple H in 2019.

Batista was most recently seen in Knock at the Cabin and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. He will play a hitman in Lionsgate’s forthcoming film The Killer’s Game. Learn more at this link.
