Baron Corbin Discusses Working With Cody Rhodes, Praises Dusty Rhodes

Baron Corbin has been a man without a way on television since he was left by JBL and is no longer being touted as the next wrestling God.

Corbin has remained a regular on television, getting promo and in-ring time against top stars like Sami Zayn and Cody Rhodes, though he’s come up short in both bouts.

Speaking on the Johnny Dare Morning Show, Corbin said about his current character and heel work, “Right now, we’re just trying to find a new gear and get running with it. We’ll see what happens.”

Speaking bout Cody Rhodes and bringing up his father Dusty Rhodes in promos, Corbin said, “You have to find those things that really irritate people, that’s the goal. Cody has come back, he’s going to WrestleMania and is going to face Roman Reigns for the title, and everyone is behind him. ‘Finish the story’ is what he’s preaching. He’s got the legacy of his dad and I spent a lot of time around his dad, so you know how connected people are to him and his family. It’s an easy target sometimes and it’s fun because people are like, ‘He’s not going to say it…oh, he said it.’ Now, what are we going to do? It’s find that line and cross it.”

Corbin and Dare then joked about wearing polka dots and visiting Dusty’s grave for a vignette as part of the feud.

Corbin went on to praise Dusty by saying, “He’s one of the greatest human beings in the entire world. Cody is not in front of me and can’t hear this. His dad is unreal. Spending the time I spent with him was something special.”

Corbin was in action on Monday’s WWE Raw, taking on Chad Gable.
