Bandido vs. Flip Gordon To Main Event ROH Road To G1 Supercard In Dallas

The main event for ROH’s Road to G1 Supercard in Dallas is set.

ROH announced that Bandido will face Flip Gordon on Jan. 24 in what is being billed as a “dream match” by the company.

With the eyes of the world on the Road to G1 Supercard, two of the youngest members of the Ring of Honor roster get their opportunity to make their case to appear on the biggest event in ROH history when Flip Gordon takes on Bandido in the Main Event in Dallas!

At Final Battle, Gordon showed a fire that has never been seen before, forcing Bully Ray to say he quits, which came just over a month after winning four matches over the course of the Jericho Cruise in the Sea of Honor Tournament to earn himself a ROH World Championship opportunity! Gordon is a bonafide World Championship contender and will be put to the test in his first ROH singles Main Event against one of the fastest rising stars in the world!

Bandido was the talk of the professional wrestling world when he went from relative unknown to main event of the biggest independent wrestling event of all time. A fourth-generation wrestler, Bandido has made a name for himself around the globe. In addition to wrestling in his native Mexico, the 23-year-old luchador has competed extensively in Japan as well as the UK, Australia and on U.S. independents, most notably Pro Wrestling Guerrilla.

In September, Bandido competed in PWG’s Battle of Los Angeles and advanced to the finals, where he was defeated by current ROH World Television Champion Jeff Cobb. Earlier that month, he teamed with fellow masked stars Rey Mysterio and Fenix against The Golden Elite (The Young Bucks and Kota Ibushi) in the main event of the All In pay-per-view. Now, he will compete in the Main Event of Road to G1 Supercard in a dream matchup of two athletes who have seen their stock rise perhaps more than any other in the last year!

Bandido signed an exclusive deal with ROH in December and is set to make his ROH debut this weekend. He will face Mark Haskins at the Saturday’s television tapings in Atlanta. The next night at Honor Reigns Supreme he is scheduled to face PJ Black.

Fightful will have full results from the television tapings and Honor Reigns Supreme following the conclusion of both events.
