Bad Luck Fale Says He Didn’t Know Bullet Club Was In The Works In 2013

Bad Luck Fale recalls the start of Bullet Club nearly a decade ago.

Back in 2013, Fale, along with the likes of Tama Tonga, Prince Devitt (now known as Finn Balor) and Karl Anderson formed the faction and of the four, only Fale and Tonga are still with the group. Fale started out as Devitt’s bodyguard, but there was something in the works between Devitt and Anderson, ultimately leading into the creation of Bullet Club.

In an interview with NJPW, Fale admitted that he had no idea that Devitt and Anderson were working on creating a faction.

“No, I had no idea. I thought that it was just going to be me and Devitt at first. He never talked about a group, I was there as his bodyguard and he was teaching me how to be a singles wrestler,” Fale said.

Devitt would soon leave the group to go to WWE, leading to AJ Styles becoming the new leader of the faction. Fale was happy to gain new mentorship, but also said even if Styles never came along, Bullet Club would likely have been led by Anderson.

“It was obviously stressful, but I looked to Anderson after that. And then AJ (Styles) came along, and so did (Doc) Gallows. We gained two guys that I could really learn from, and I really did a lot of growing at that point. I think you would have seen Anderson take the lead at that point. I reckon it still would have been just as successful under Karl. We had so much fun with him, and I think even if AJ hadn’t come, we would have had just as much success,” Fale said.
