Ava (Simone Johnson) Loses TV Singles Debut To Ivy Nile At NXT Heatwave 2023; Creed Brothers Return

Ava was cooking during her first televised singles match at NXT Heatwave against Ivy Nile but ultimately came up short.

Ava was in complete control during the short match, but after picking Nile up in a shoulder breaker position, Nile was able to slip from Ava’s grip, apply the Dragon Sleeper, and come away with the victory.

After the match, the other members of Schism and a legion of their followers came onto the apron as Ivy was threatening to lock Ava in another Dragon Sleeper before the fourth-generation star was pulled out of the ring by two unknown masked men who are supposed followers of Schism.

Later in the evening, Ava challenged Ivy Nile to meet her under Schism’s tree. When Nile took her up on the challenge, Ava expected the two men that saved her earlier in the night to protect her again, only for it to be revealed that they are actually Julius and Brutus Creed.

Ivy Nile went on to attack Ava, and The Creed Brothers challenged The Dyad’s Jagger Reid & Rip Fowler to meet them in a Steel Cage Match on August 29, and should they win, The Creeds want to be reinstated in NXT.

Ava, who is Simone Johnson, daughter of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, may have come up short in her televised single debut but won her actual singles debut over Ivy Nile during a recent NXT house show in Tampa. Learn more here.
