Austin Theory Discusses Working With Vince McMahon, Jokes He Wants To Face Him At WrestleMania
Vince McMahon has taken Austin Theory under his wing ever since Theory revealed that he stole Cleopatra’s egg, a gift from The Rock to McMahon, at WWE Survivor Series.
The two men have done multiple backstage segments since WWE Survivor Series with McMahon looking for Theory to impress him while giving him advice on how to become the best WWE superstar he can be.
Speaking to Liam Llewellyn of The Mirror, Theory discussed his on-screen relationship with McMahon.
“So I think those ideas came around because I stole a hundred million dollar egg,” he chuckled. “These lessons that Vince is teaching me, I don’t think he would have taught me in this way if I didn’t do what I did. I think everything happens for a reason. I’m not telling anyone to steal a hundred million dollar egg or even a million dollar egg, but somehow it worked out for me. I’m getting a lot of knowledge and the biggest takeaway from Mr. McMahon is to expect the unexpected.”
Theory tried to impress McMahon by attacking Finn Balor. No match has been announced between the two, but Theory believes it could happen at WWE Day 1.
Beyond WWE Day 1, Theory is looking towards WrestleMania 38 and a big time opponent.
“Mr. McMahon,” he joked when asked who he would like to face, before adding “I’m going to go for the head of the table Roman Reigns. This is a guy who has been around for a long time, he’s seen different things, he’s literally at the top. So I think for me, that’s where I’m aiming myself and that’s where my sights are set.”
McMahon hasn’t wrestled WrestleMania XXVI when he lost to Bret Hart. Reigns is the current WWE Universal Champion and part of WWE SmackDown.
Fightful will have live coverage of WWE SmackDown beginning at 8 p.m. ET on Friday.
