Arn Anderson: The Only Thing Dolph Ziggler Was Missing Was The Right Guy Pulling For Him
Arn Anderson talks about Dolph Ziggler and what he believes was missing from Ziggler’s run in WWE.
After almost 20 years with the promotion, Dolph Ziggler was released by WWE in September 2023. Now, Nic Nemeth is on his own and making big waves in TNA Wrestling and New Japan Pro-Wrestling.
Speaking about Dolph Ziggler’s WWE exit and the subsequent arrival of Nic Nemeth in these other promotions, Arn Anderson noted that he is a huge fan of the former WWE World Heavyweight Champion and says that the only thing he was missing was “the right guy” pushing for his success.
“I’m a big fan,” said Anderson on his ARN podcast. “First and foremost, he knows the most important thing and the biggest responsibility of every performer that steps through those ropes. Number one, get the match over. If you get the match over, you’re ahead of the game. Then depending on the outcome and results and hopes for results, you have the responsibility of getting your opponent over and yourself. So Dolph had that quality. He knew what his job was at night and he could go out and he could cater to a guy’s strengths, cater to his weaknesses as far as saying, ‘Let’s not do that.’ Longevity, he was a guy that didn’t get hurt very much, very durable, and brother, he would go out and the excitement that he brought to a match was, I thought, exceptional. I’m a big Dolph Ziggler fan
“The only thing he was missing was the right guy pulling for him. When you have all the talents that he has and there’s something missing, you may look to see who went to bat for him and who didn’t go. Sometimes that can work for you, or against you, and I’ll leave it at that,” he added.
Nic recently won the IWGP Global Championship. Fans can learn more about his victory at this link.
Arn still works behind the scenes today in AEW.
