Ariya Daivari Set To Challenge Tony Nese For Cruiserweight Title
Tony Nese gets his first challenger.
On Tuesday’s episode of 205 Live, Ariya Daivari battled Oney Lorcan in singles competition, with the winner earning a shot at Tony Nese and the WWE Cruiserweight Title. After a back-and-forth contest, Daivari picked up the victory and stood face-to-face with the champion, who was at ringside to scout his next opponent.
Daivari has been on a roll on 205 Live in 2019, picking up singles victories over Johnny Lyons and Cedric Alexander along with winning a fatal-four way that also featured Akira Tozawa, Gran Metalik, and Mike Kanellis. Nese won the Cruiserweight Title at WrestleMania 35 when he defeated Buddy Murphy.
