AR Fox Is Still Speechless Over AEW Contract Offer

AR Fox officially signed with AEW on November 30, 2022 after teaming with Top Flight (Dante & Darius Martin) in a trios bout against Death Triangle (Penta El Zero Miedo, Rey Fenix, & PAC) on th November 30 episode of AEW Dynamite.

Fox was offered a contract in a backstage segment with interviewer Lexy Nair.

Appearing on AEW Unrestricted, Fox recalled the contract offer.

“It just took me off guard. I’m super humble, but in a way, I almost had that gut feeling, only because, right before we were about to do it, Sonjay (Dutt) called Lexy back over and whispered something in her ear. My gut sank. I’ve been doing it for so long that I thought, I don’t know, I thought it had passed, me really getting a shot. I was kinda happy to be there, but it was crazy. I’m still speechless about it. It took my off guard, was the first thing. All these thoughts were going through my head, I didn’t know how to feel or what to think. I’ll never forget it. I can’t really describe it. My reaction is still the same, pretty much speechless about it. I thought it would never happen,” he said.

Fox made his AEW debut on the July 25, 2022 episode of AEW Dark: Elevation when he teamed with Liam Gray & Adrian Alanis in a loss to Angelico & Private Party (Isiah Kassidy & Marq Quen).

Asked how the appearance came together, Fox said, “I trained Shawn Dean, I had a hand in training him. I heard he had a hand in booking Dark. I told him, ‘I’m willing to do it. I’ll go wherever you need, don’t care what I do or if I get anything. I want to try to give this thing a full ditch effort. I’ll show up and do whatever I have to do.’ They were coming to Atlanta, that was the first one I did and I was trying to make the most of it. I had a six-man tag, we had five minutes. I’ve never done TV. I’m only used to these long 20-minute Indie matches. ‘You have this much time left.’ ‘Okay, I’m gonna get in there one way or another.’ That was my thought process.”

Fox would become a regular on AEW Dark and Dark: Elevation before officially signing with the promotion.

Fox is set to team with Top Flight to challenge The Elite (The Young Bucks & Kenny Omega) for the AEW Trios Titles on the February 17 episode of AEW Rampage. Fans can check out the lineup for the show by clicking here.
