Apollo Crews Accepts Big E’s Open Challenge For Intercontinental Title Match On 1/8 WWE SmackDown
Big E has his first challenger for the Intercontinental Championship.
Big E was attacked by Sami Zayn and the Knights of the Lone Wolf following his match with Baron Corbin tonight, which prompted Apollo to come out and help the Intercontinental Champion. An impromptu tag team match was made which ended with Apollo pinning Sami after he was abandoned by Corbin and his henchmen for barking orders at them.

The victors were interviewed backstage, where after dropping a few Brodie Lee references, Big E issued an open challenge for his title. Apollo quickly claimed the opportunity, arguing that the longtime New Day member wouldn’t even have the belt if it wasn’t for his assistance during the Christmas Day Lumberjack Match where he won the championship.
The two will face-off on the January 8, 2021 episode of SmackDown. It will be Big E’s first official title defence.
