Anthony Henry Says CM Punk Was Always Nice To Him, Hasn’t Experienced Negativity In AEW Locker Room
Anthony Henry talks about the environment in the AEW locker room.
Following AEW All Out, there was a confrontation between CM Punk, Ace Steel, and members of The Elite leading to multiple suspensions. In the wake of this altercation and in the weeks leading up to it, there were reports about backstage tension surrounding CM Punk.
Anthony Henry, who primarily competes on AEW Dark, recently weighed in on CM Punk and the locker room Vibe behind the scenes in AEW. Speaking with Nick Hausman of Wrestling Inc, Henry says that CM Punk was always nice to him, albeit their interactions were brief.
“I have talked to Punk a couple of times,” he said, “He was very nice to me. Actually, when I came in, he introduced himself to me. Which – very nice. That’s a rare thing that usually doesn’t happen. But he just walked up to me like, ‘Hi, I’m Phil.“
In regards to locker room tension, Henry says that he never experienced any such negativity behind the scenes, Calling it “night and day” as compared to WWE.
“I did feel like the pressure and people watching you, and judging you and looking for you to mess up almost [in WWE],” Henry said. “At AEW, it just never seemed that way. It just seemed like everybody’s very supportive and just wants everybody to do well.”
