Anthony Bowens continues to successfully blaze a trail in AEW, as he is the company’s first openly gay champion. He is a former AEW World Tag Team Champion, and he currently holds the AEW World Trios Championship with Max Caster and “Daddy Ass” Billy Gunn.
AEW star Anthony Bowens took to Twitter/X on January 26 to comment on the news that he had been nominated for a Queerty Award. Specifically, he has been nominated for Sports Hero of the Year. Bowens wrote that if fans love the Bang Banhg Scissor Gang, they can cast their vote for him.

On their website, Queerty states that the awards honor the year’s best in LGBTQ+ media and culture. The awards will be presented at the Queerties Live Event on March 12, 2024.
