Anna Jay Discusses Joining Dark Order, Getting Rid Of Her Mask

The Dark Order has many members, but no member ranks higher than number 99 Anna Jay.

Jay was the first, and technically the only, female member of Dark Order and has already become one of the most popular members thanks to her segments on Being The Elite and dynamic with John Silver.

Appearing on AEW Unrestricted, Jay discussed the idea behind pairing her with Dark Order.

“The night I was offered a contract — I don’t remember who it was but they said there was an idea for me to be in the Dark Order, but they weren’t going to do it. I said, ‘Okay.’ I will do literally whatever they want me to. Then it was brought to my attention a couple of months after I was signed, they actually filmed a whole vignette of me joining Dark Order and then did away with it. I just came out with Colt and Brodie on Dynamite. So, it happened pretty quickly. Then, I was gone for a couple of weeks, came back, I think people were confused because I just walked out with them and that was it,” she said.

Jay initially wore a mask as part of the group, but that was quickly scrapped as most backstage agreed that she was too beautiful to have her face covered.

“Tony Khan ended up saying, ‘Scrap it, throw it away.’ I remember it being removed off my face and thrown in the trash. I was like, ‘What, I want that for memories,’ but it’s gone and out of here,” she said about the mask being removed.

With Brodie Lee sidelined for the time being, Silver and Jay have occupied the biggest spotlight when Dark Order has been on television.

On the most recent episode of AEW Dynamite, Jay unsuccessfully challenged Hikaru Shida for the AEW Women’s Championship.
