Andre Chase Says His Professional Career ‘Recycled’ After Debuting For NXT During The Pandemic
Andre Chase reflects on his career in WWE.
Chase has enjoyed a plethora of success since signing with WWE, with most of that success coming from his Chase University faction. Chase has had memorable feuds and matches with the likes of Pretty Deadly, Schism, and Von Wagner.
Before coming to WWE, Chase spent fourteen years on the independent scene, competing in promotions like Ring Of Honor, Pro Wrestling NOAH, and EVOLVE.
In a new interview with Mark Moses, Chase said that his professional career kind of recycled once he started in WWE, as he first made his debut for the company in front of a limited capacity crowd.
“When I made my WWE debut, it was limited capacity. We probably had at that point maybe a 100 people here for the television tapings. Just as a timeline, I was wrestling on the independents until the pandemic and then when the pandemic happened, I didn’t wrestle for six months, which was the longest in fourteen years. I had only gone maybe a week without wrestling in my whole adult life. So then six months I don’t wrestle, then I get signed by WWE. It was like everything restarted because when I started wrestling, it was in front of 5 or 10 people back in 2007, that’s just kind how it is. Then I came to WWE and I’m wrestling in front of 50 people, and then it rebuilt back up. So, now at the television tapings we’ve got hundreds of people. The premium live events, we had Vengeance Day in Charlotte, which was huge for me because that was a homecoming for me. Then you have Stand & Deliver during WrestleMania weekend with this huge crowd and this influx of wrestling fans. Recently, we had Great American Bash in Austin, Texas. So, it’s like my professional career recycled after fifteen years and then it went back to building back up to now wrestling in arenas again. When I think about it, that’s how I thought it would always be, but not in that order.”
Elsewhere in the interview, Duke Hudson commented on his stint with Chase U thus far. Fans can learn more here.
