Andrade Says He Would Have Loved To Be Dominik Mysterio’s First WWE Opponent

Despite Andrade and Rey Mysterio having a lot of animosity inside the WWE ring in the past, Andrade respects not just Rey but his son Dominik outside of the ring.

It may have come to a small surprise to some when Andrade tweeted his support to Dominik in the aftermath of him signing his contract for a match against Seth Rollins at SummerSlam.

Speaking to Planeta Wrestling, Andrade talked about how much he respects the Mysterios and even admitted that he would have loved to have been Dominik’s first opponent in WWE. Although Dominik is focused on Rollins, Andrade said he hopes that he can still have a match with the younger Mysterio down the line.

“Apart from the feud that we had, Rey Mysterio is a great person. Inside the ring, he’s a rival, but outside the ring, he’s a great guy. I would have loved to have faced Dominik in his WWE debut. I think in the future we can lock up [in the ring],” Andrade said.

Andrade will team up with Angel Garza to take on The Street Profits for the Raw Tag Team titles at SummerSlam, taking place on August 23.
