Allie Katch talks about her recent re-naming.

Back in the summer of 2021, Allie Kat made a transition in her career and began using the Allie Katch name, which she still uses to this day. Along with the name change, Katch began to slowly transition out of her cat-like gimmick.

In a new interview with Fightful, Katch talked about the process of re-naming herself.

“You can think it’s catch as catch can wrestling. I just think I’m a wrestler now. What other words start with K-A-T? What was I gonna be Everdeen Katniss? No. No! I feel like, if you think me with a knife is bad, me with a bow and arrow is even worse.”

Katch also revealed that she believes she could have done even more with her old cat gimmick, even though she’s never owned one herself.

“No. I feel like cats are so weird that there’s so much more to do. There’s so many more things I could have done. No. I don’t have time. I just play with other people’s cats. It’s always like I don’t have a cat, but whoever my roommate is always did. So that was me studying tape. When I was a kid, but when I moved out, I haven’t had a pet since. I travel a lot.”

In the interview, Katch also talked about how her current gimmick allows her to try more things instead of doing a similar shtick every time she’s in a ring.

“It makes me think more. You can’t rest on your laurels. Yeah, alright I do the scratch thing, rub my belly thing, yada yada, one, two, let’s go home. I was having fun as a cat, but I feel like I’m having more fun because I’m having to try harder. Then also it’s cool to do stuff that people don’t expect you to do. Now I also try to jump off of high things, too.”

Lastly, Allie Katch wants all you people to stop asking if she’s still friends with MJF.

“Oh, I don’t know. Please stop asking me about Max. We are friends, okay? We’re friends.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Katch talked about crazy pitches that she makes. Click here to learn more.
