Alexa Bliss: Ronda Rousey Would Be Welcomed Back, May Have To Apologize To Locker Room

Ronda Rousey caused a stir in April when she called wrestling “fake fighting” in an interview with Steve-O.

Rousey said on the podcast, “I love all the girls in the locker room. Hell yeah, running out there and having fake fights for fun is just the best thing.”

The comment drew the ire of many women in WWE, who blasted Rousey for what she said about wrestling being fake. And should Rousey return to WWE, she might have some apologizing to do to the women who still occupy the locker room.

“That’s the thing with the people that we work with. Whether we get along or not, we all work together and we all respect each other and we all get the job done,” Alexa Bliss told Express. “There’s been people in the locker room that I haven’t got along with but you have to think about it as you’re traveling with people 300 days a year, we’re all like sisters. It’s like being in a family reunion every single day of your life. But you hash it out and you get over it and you work together and now we all get along great and we are all one big family. I think she may have some apologizing to do because it was disrespectful and our company is built on respect. But I don’t see why she wouldn’t be welcome with open arms.”

Rousey leaned into her comments after being called out by the likes of Bliss, Nia Jax, and Lana on social media shortly after they were made. In a social media post she wrote, “Anyone who is outraged by me calling pro wrestling “fake fights for fun” has never been in a REAL fight….Yes, I understand, wrestling 300 days a year for years on end is incredibly tough on the body and a difficult profession- but do you know what would happen if you got in 300 REAL fights in a year? You would be dead.”

Rousey last appeared in a WWE ring at WrestleMania 35 where she lost the Raw Women’s Title to Becky Lynch in a triple threat match that also featured Charlotte Flair.

It is unknown when or if Rousey will return to WWE.
